Hydraulic Cement- 1756
Hydraulic cement was a new way to replace the old materials used by the romans with materials like clay, rocks, and sand. the old aggregate could be to heavy or weak or to big. Hydraulic Cement is any cement that sets and hardens when combined with water. Hydraulic cement was formed by burning lime and other ingredients together with powered bricks.
Portland Cement- 1824
The next innovation was Portaland Cement it was more advanced version of hydraulic cement. It was more advanced beacause of the new way of creating it. It is a simular process but it uses newer machines to make. It is still used today beacause of how it strengthens the concrete.
Reinforced Cement- 1849
Rienforced cement is where you take concrete and you support that further with things like rebar or steel cables. When building with reinforced cement the support is usually place on the ground and the cement is pourd around it. Reinforced concrete was invented 1849 by Joseph
Monier.
Monier.
Modern Cement- 1900
Modern cement is what most building are made of today. It still uses reinforced cement and portland cement.
Translucent Concrete- 2004
Translucent concrete is created by puttung special fibers in the concrete. The fibers use light and tranmit it. The fibers were invented by Hungarian architect Aron Losonczi.Translucent concrete is cement the you can see through. The people who make the cement somtimes put lights at the bottom of the concrete so at night people can see how it works and how beautiful it is.
